Founded in 1937 by Erik Hellstrøm Møller as Dansk Bakelit Industri, DBI Plastics began as one of Denmark’s first plastics manufacturers. The company’s early years were marked by pioneering work with bakelite and thermoplastics, supplying both household items and industrial components.
The Iconic “DBI-dut”
Over time, DBI Plastics became synonymous with the “DBI-dut”- a protective plastic cap so iconic that its name entered the Danish language as a term for small, useful objects.
