Benefits of Bioplastics
Bioplastics are driving the evolution of plastics
There are two significant advantages of biobased plastic products compared to their conventional versions: they save fossil resources by using biomass which regenerates (annually) and provides the unique potential of carbon neutrality.
Bioplastics also lower the carbon footprint. Each metric ton of Bio – polyethene produced avoids the emission of 2 to 2.5 metric tons of carbon dioxide on a lifecycle basis, and significantly reduce CO2 , when compared to standard fossil LDPE solutions.
Fully recyclable – fully sustainable
DBI Bioplastics is 90% pure biomaterial from Brazilian sugar canes. Farmed under strict sustainable guidelines in respect of natural resources, biodiversity and crop rotation. Being a by-product derived from food and fuel extraction and production, the raw material used for Bioplastics is an extremely efficient and sustainable raw material. The Bioplastics end product is fully recyclable and can be included in a closed loop system for maximum sustainable impact.
An estimated 99% of all plastic is made from fossil fuels such as oil and gas. The remaining 1% is made from natural raw materials such as corn, cane sugar and sugar beet.
Same properties as conventional plastics - with additional advantages
The Bio range of protective solutions is made from plant-based bioplastic. Sourced from sugar canes, the Bio range is a natural progression in our commitment to make a positive impact on the world around us.
Bioplastics have the same physical and chemical properties as regular plastic and maintain full recycling capabilities. DBI’s bioplastics solutions are available in LDPE – Low Density Polyethylene.
DBI Bio products helps you lower the carbon footprint. You get a resource-effective supply chain, directly supporting your sustainability targets.
Two different paths to the same high quality product.
